The Regional Authority for Tourism Promotion and the General Administration of Passenger Traffic at Alexandria Port coordinated to warm welcome the cruise ship “NORWEGIAN VIVA” – flying the Bahamas flag and belonging to the travel agency Rhapsody and the shipping agency Dominion, coming from the port of “Catania-Italy” and carrying tourists of various nationalities in addition to the ship’s crew.

During the welcome ceremony, artistic performances were presented reflecting the Egyptian heritage and Alexandrian folklore by the Storm band led by the artist Ahmed Heikal, which won the admiration of the tourists who interacted with it by dancing, singing songs and taking souvenir photos. The tourists are scheduled to visit the tourist attractions in Alexandria and then return again to complete the ship’s journey on the scheduled date tomorrow, Monday, heading to the port of “Limassol-Cyprus”.
The safe arrival and departure of tourist groups
The Governor of Alexandria Ahmed Khaled Hassan Saeed issued instructions to the relevant authorities to ensure the safe arrival and departure of tourist groups from Alexandria with ease and security. He also stressed the need to provide all means of support during the tourist delegations’ visits to Alexandria’s tourist attractions, and to present the city in the manner befitting its status as the Bride of the Mediterranean.

The cruise ship was received upon its berth at the Alexandria Port Passenger Terminal by Major General Hesham Safwat, Vice Chairman of the Alexandria Port Authority for Operations, Abdel Wahab Mohamed, Director General of the Ministry of Tourism Office in Alexandria, Amal El Argawy, Director General of the Alexandria Tourism Promotion Authority Offices, Admiral Essam Farouk, Head of the Central Department of Movement, Captain Sherif El Sersawy, Director General of Passenger Movement, Hossam Gharib, Director of the Reception Department at the Alexandria Port Authority, and the Public Relations Officers of the Regional Authority for Tourism Promotion.
