Maestrini (Fincantieri) elected president of the continental lobby Sea Europe which also represents European marine equipment manufacturers
Sea Europe, the industry association representing European shipyards and marine equipment manufacturers, has announced the election of Alberto Maestrini as its new president, replacing René Berkvens.according to Shipping Italy
His election is effective immediately. Maestrini graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genoa in 1983. Since September 2020, he has been appointed Executive Vice President, responsible for the Offshore and Specialized Vessels business at Fincantieri.
Career path
He was President and CEO of Vard Group AS, a Fincantieri company, from September 2020 to June 2024.
He was subsequently appointed Chairman of Vard Group. He also holds the positions of CEO and Chairman at Vard Holdings and Fincantieri Oil & Gas.From September 2016 to September 2020 he was General Manager of Fincantieri S.p.A. Since February 2016 he has been Deputy General Manager of Fincantieri S.p.A.,
While since January 2004 he has held the position of Senior Executive Vice President of the Naval Vessels Business Unit. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Naviris, a joint venture between Fincantieri SpA and Naval Group.

In his first statement as President, Alberto Maestrini expressed his commitment to strengthening the role of Sea Europe in promoting the European maritime industry, in particular with regard to the forthcoming EU Maritime Industrial Strategy
