Arkas Line debuts in West Africa

A feeder from Tangier organized entirely with ships owned by the Turkish company

Arkas Line is ready to enhance its operations in the West African trade routes, providing services entirely with its own fleet, expanding its network in the region and increasing operational efficiency.

The Turkish company, which started operations in Africa in 2012, announced in a statement: “Following the recent expansion in India with ‘India Med Service’, Arkas Line will now operate the West Africa Service (Was) exclusively with its own vessels.

As part of this new structure, four vessels, Mario A, Cristina A, Jean Pierre A and Diane A, each with a capacity of 1,600 TEU, will serve the West Africa trade route. Leveraging its extensive operational expertise, high service quality and solid experience in West Africa, Arkas Line aims to offer a more competitive and efficient maritime transport service with this new configuration.

The West Africa Service, operating with regular weekly departures, will provide customers with shorter transit times and more flexible solutions.”

These are the ports of call planned for the new Arkas Was rotation: Tangier – Casablanca – Dakar – Lagos (Tincan / Apapa) – Tema – Abidjan – Nouakchott – Tangier.

8 %Energy Savings with New Propellers!

On the other hand Arkas Line is taking another important step towards sustainability by strengthening its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change. It has begun replacing propellers that will increase energy efficiency by up to 8%, while reducing fuel consumption and carbon footprint.

Increase energy efficiency

Arkas Shipping Group, which clearly demonstrates its sectoral sensitivity to environmental problems that threaten our world, will now increase energy efficiency by 8 percent by renewing the propellers on its ships, after starting to use bio-component marine fuel called Bio24F supplied by Arkas Bunker in the container ships operated by Arkas Line, which belong to the Arkas Shipping Fleet.
