The US Presidential election all contributed to a decline in brokerage yacht sales this year compared to 2023. With respect to this year’s 10 most expensive sales, BOATPro indicates the total amount secured fell 52.8 per cent from €1.51 billion in 2023 to €711.9 million in 2024.
Still, there was a considerable number of high-value items that managed to trade hands on the brokerage market in 2024.

Phoenix 2

Taking the top spot for the most expensive superyacht sales of 2024 is Art Deco masterpiece Phoenix 2, sold in September after 724 cumulative days on the market according to BOATPro. Recognised for her New York skyline-inspired interiors and impressive array of amenities – including three pools, a cinema, winter garden and beauty salon – the 90.1-metre Lürssen has stolen many design spotlights thanks to the work of Winch Design onboard.
She completed an extensive eight-month refit in May with MB92 in Barcelona, with works inclusive of a hull repaint and main engine servicing by MTU; leaving her refreshed and ready for a new owner despite a lengthy period on the market.
Phoenix 2 was sold with Burgess representing the buyer and joint central agents Burgess and Cecil Wright representing the seller.

New Secret

The 74-metre Amels superyacht New Secret marks the second most expensive superyacht sale of 2024. Sold in June after just five months on the market, New Secret has remained in prime condition since her delivery in 2017, having only been used by her original owner.
She is the second hull from the Dutch shipyard’s 242 LE series with exterior lines from Tim Heywood – the only difference from her sistership Plvs Ultra being her completely white superstructure.
Onboard, highlights include an eight-metre pool, a dayhead and a large swim platform, elegantly finished by a neutral interior from Winch Design.

HBC

Abeking & Rasmussen’s HBC marked another successful sale in June 2024. Previously named B2 before her sale, the 85.7-metre superyacht is renowned for its immaculate condition, meticulously maintained since her delivery in 2009.
She re-entered the brokerage market following a four-million-euro refit in 2022, which included brand-new interiors from Winch Design. 2020 also saw an extensive refit for HBC, which received a seven-metre hull extension and a new glass-bottom swimming pool.
The yacht is characterised by a midnight-blue hull and ice-white superstructure, showcasing a clean Reymond Langton penmanship.
HBC was sold with Moravia Yachting representing the seller and Merle Wood & Associates representing the buyer.

Asking price: €67,000,000While the yacht was on the market, the broker said she represented “a rare opportunity to acquire a yacht of her pedigree, age, design and style.” Designed in-house in collaboration with the owner – with an interior by Laura Pomponi – the yacht has had little use since it was launched just under five years ago.
Alfa also scooped up a coveted Neptune at the 2021 World Superyacht Awards, where she won Best Displacement Motor Yacht for her category between 1,000GT and 1,599GT. Worth mentioning is the upper deck, which is dedicated to the owner and features an exterior lounge overlooking the touch-and-go helicopter pad on the bow.
There’s also an infinity pool with an electric system that raises the floor to form a shallow paddling pool for kids, or further up again to transform into a dance floor

Vassa

In April came the sale of 68.8-metre Drizzle – now known as Vassa. Since her delivery in 2012, the Feadship yacht had remained under a single owner and was kept in near-perfect condition thanks to a comprehensive maintenance schedule. Intended for wide appeal, the yacht’s interiors are neutral and contemporary – the work of British design studio RWD, which collaborated with the owner.
Onboard highlights include a fully-equipped fitness studio, a tender garage dedicated to a wide array of toys and an open sun deck. Meanwhile, accommodation is for 12 guests across five cabins, including the owner’s suite, which boasts large windows, an office area and a dressing room.
Vassa was sold with Hamilton Marine International representing the seller. The buying broker wished to remain anonymous.
