Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the “bounty hunter”!

Capt. Mohamad Juma El Shamisi Managing Director  and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports and a business person involved in ports within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi has never known the meaning of “impossible.” It is a word only found in the vocabulary of the losers, the incapable, and the traditionalists. However, Captain Muhamad Juma Al Shamisi was creative, innovative, resilient, and dedicated in his endeavors, Passionate, sincere in giving, and ambitious exceeding all expectations despite numerous challenges, despite the obstacles and difficulties, he never looked back.

He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Science, a High Seas Captain, from the Australian Maritime College, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Management from the University of Tasmania, Australia.

In addition to his role as Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Al Shamisi serves as the Chairman of the Board of Aramex and Vice President of the Emirates Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation. He is also a board member of several corporations and institutions, including Etihad Airways Group, Abu Dhabi Airports, and the Emirates branch of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Through his astute leadership, Captain Al Shamisi has leveraged the capabilities of Abu Dhabi Ports Group to support the UAE leadership’s vision of diversifying the non-oil economy. He also ensures that Abu Dhabi Ports Group plays a significant role in achieving the goals set by the Abu Dhabi government to establish a diversified, sustainable, knowledge-based, and innovation-driven economy, enhancing the group’s position as a primary engine for trade, industry, and logistics in Abu Dhabi, elevating expertise.

 

Besides his roles in Abu Dhabi Ports, Captain Al Shamisi chairs the board of Aramex, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, and KIZAD, and is the Vice Chairman of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation, along with memberships on various corporate and institutional boards including the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the Emirates. Previously, he served on the board of Etihad Airways, and currently, he is the President of the Arab Sea Ports Federation
