Maersk has appointed Christopher Cook as its new Managing Director for India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
Cook, who will start in his new role on 1 October, has extensive experience, having held numerous significant leadership roles at Maersk, the most recent being his current position as Managing Director of UAE, Oman, and Qatar.
Trusted logistics partner
“I am deeply honoured to take on the role of leading the team in South Asia. This region presents immense growth opportunities, and I look forward to working closely with our talented team here. Together, we will strengthen Maersk’s position as a trusted logistics partner for our customers while driving solutions that create value for them and our stakeholders,” commented Christopher Cook, Managing Director for India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka.
Significant growth
Cook has created significant growth by successfully diversifying the business while maintaining great customer service. He altered Maersk’s product profile by using the UAE’s ocean portfolio and effectively expanding into important sectors like air freight and contract logistics. Cook actively supports decarbonisation, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), and corporate social responsibility.
Important markets
“I am delighted to welcome Christopher to his new role. He will take charge of one of our most important markets, and I am confident Christopher’s wealth of experience will contribute to our growth in the geography,” stated Richard Morgan, Managing Director of Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa.
