Fincantieri will ‘pull’ the growth of the sector, with 37 units under construction out of a total of 67
The global orderbook of cruise ships between now and 2036 includes 67 ships, for a total of 170,422 beds, and a value of 57 billion dollars.

The specialized magazine Cruise Industry News summed up the orders placed so far by the companies, placing Fincantieri (with 37 ships, or more than half of the total) in order for construction yards, followed by Meyer Werft with nine and Chantiers de l’Atlantique with eight.
CIN’s analysis
By dissecting the world order portfolio year by year, CIN‘s analysis predicts the arrival of 15 new units in 2025, for 38,629 beds and a value of 11.8 billion dollars, with an average per ship of 785 million dollars and per bed of 304,849 dollars.
Of these, six will be built by Fincantieri, namely the Mein Schiff Relax by Tui Cruises, the Aqua by Norwegian, the Allura by Oceania, the Viking Vesta by Viking Ocean and the Four Season I by Four Season.
In 2025, the MSC World America by MSC and the Disney Adventure will also debut, the latter with a capacity of 6,000 passengers.
The impact of new buildings in 2026 will be similar, when 16 ships will make their debut, seven of which are under construction at Fincantieri. as according to Shipping Italy
In particular, the Italian group will deliver Norwegian’s Luna, Tui Cruises’ Mein Schiff Flow, Viking Ocean’s Mira, Explora III by Explora Journeys, Four Seasons II by Four Season, Regent’s Seven Seas Prestige and a new Viking Ocean unit whose name has not yet been revealed.
Also expected in 2026 is the debut of MSC World Asia, whose construction began in France in April of this year. In total, incoming cruise ships, with an average value of 623 million dollars, will bring with them 28,337 beds, with an average value of 307,795 dollars each.
