The association’s assembly has elected Luigi Merlo’s successor, who promises continuity
Davide Falteri is the new president of Federlogistica, succeeding Luigi Merlo, who led the federation for six years.
The passing of the baton was formalized yesterday by the members’ assembly, which met in private form at the end of the public meeting that took place in Rome at the headquarters of Confcommercio.
An entrepreneur
An entrepreneur in the field of strategic development and institutional relations, Falteri founded the Global Consortium in Genoa, an aggregation of companies operating in transport, logistics and shipping on a national scale, with the aim of supporting the growth and modernization of the system.
The entire logistics chain
“I take on this presidency,” he commented, “at a crucial moment for the entire logistics chain, on the eve of significant transformations that require far-sighted management. Federlogistica is called upon to confront old and new challenges, finally in an Italian economic and political context that has recognized the strategic role of logistics as an essential tool for competitiveness.”
Investing in artificial intelligence
Falteri also underlined the importance of investing in artificial intelligence (a topic to which the entire day of work was dedicated yesterday), digitalization and international relations, essential elements to project the Italian logistics sector towards the future, improving its efficiency and promoting integration into global markets.
Dialogue with trade unions
At SHIPPING ITALY Falteri had underlined yesterday the desire to work continuously on “all” the issues addressed by his predecessor, highlighting in particular the need to advance the sector in the scheduling of departures and arrivals of vehicles and with ports that work 24 hours a day, but always “with respect for human value, and therefore also maintaining constant dialogue with trade unions”.
