Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, witnessed on Thursday the raising of the Egyptian flag on the Wadi El Arish Ship, affiliated with the Ministry of Transport’s National Navigation Company (NNC), in the presence of Lieutenant General Kamel El Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, said that what we are witnessing with the joining of the “Wadi Al-Arish” ship to the commercial fleet of the National Navigation Company comes within the framework of integrated efforts to develop the maritime transport sector, and take various measures and mechanisms that would contribute to restoring the strength of the Egyptian commercial fleet, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to transform Egypt into a regional center for transportation, logistics and transit trade.

The latest dry bulk ship
It is the latest dry bulk ship that joined the commercial fleet of the National Navigation Company, one of the companies of the Ministry of Transport, coinciding with its reception for the first time in an Egyptian port, since its official receipt in the first quarter of this year from the Chinese Hantong Shipyard, one of the largest global shipyards specialized in building dry bulk ships.
The events were attended by Dr. Ayman El-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, Major General Tarek Adly, Chairman of Damietta Port Authority, and maritime transport leaders.

Noting that the “Wadi El-Arish” ship is the jewel of the national commercial fleet, as it was built according to the latest technologies in terms of hull design to reduce fuel consumption, in addition to the fact that the main machine is from the manufacturer MAN B&W,
The ship is equipped with the latest navigation systems, as well as its compliance with all international environmental requirements, which qualifies it to achieve the best possible operation for this type of ship.

The Prime Minister and his companions entered the ship’s command room, which is equipped with the latest capabilities and electronic navigation maps, which provide a higher margin of safety, and listened to an explanation about the command room equipment, and he ascended to the highest point of the ship.
300 thousand tons during 4 trips
It is worth noting that the Bulk Carrier “Wadi El Arish” has transported nearly 300 thousand tons during 4 trips since its receipt in January 2024 until October 2024, the last of which was a trip coming from Brazil carrying a shipment of corn amounting to 71.5 thousand tons for the private sector
