Enzo Raugei re-elected president of the Livorno Port Company ,the votes involved the election of four councilors instead of the three who were part of the previous Clp council. The result of the polls in the first round, based on 50% + 1 of voters, reconfirmed Enzo Raugei with 73% of the preferences and Marco Dalli, councilor, with 53.7%. In the second round of balloting for the election of two councilors out of the four candidates – Luca Ghezzani outgoing councillor, and the other operational workers Luca Cavallini, Alessio Prosperi (Cilp) and Simone Angella – Ghezzani (56.43%) and Cavallini were elected (54.51%). At the end of counting the ballots, the new Council proceeded together with the auditors to appoint Enzo Raugei as president of the Compagnia Portuale for the next three years
The very popular votes (92.4% in the first round and 85.7% in the second) were commented by the new president – at the helm of the cooperative since 2006 – as proof of the members’ sense of belonging as well as the confirmation of the outgoing Board was defined by the same as a sign of the good work done in the previous mandate in managing complex situations and at the same time in strengthening the cooperative, also through a policy of alliances and relationships, which has borne fruit.
The electoral commission, which applied the procedures established by the regulation, was made up of seven workers elected at the assembly: Valenti Valentina, Belli Erica, Di Franco Diego (president), Falcinelli Michele, Lorenzini Simon, Lubrani Simon and Petrucci Matteo.
.On the other hand the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority (PNA) has renewed the convention with Piombino Emergency Rescue Associations to ensure an ambulance and two expert operators are present in the port every weekend during the summer season.
The agreement with the local Red Cross, Misericordia Ambulance service and Public Assistance associations was signed a few days ago at the former Piombino Port Authority headquarters.
The port of Livorno
The port of Livorno looks out onto the North Tyrrhenian Sea and is located at 43°32’.6 North latitude and e 010°17’.8 longitude East in the North-west of Tuscany.
It is mainly set back from the coastline where it is well protected from southerly and westerly winds.
The port of Livorno is classified as a Big Regional (first level port) along the Tyrrhenian corridor, by the Freight Leaders Club, and is a multipurpose port, namely it is equipped with infrastructures and equipment that can berth any vessel and handle any type of goods traffic (LO-LO, RO-RO, bulk solids and liquids, new cars, cruises, ferries, timber and timber derivatives, machinery etc.,). The infrastructures connect the port to the main national rail and road networks and the airports of Pisa and Florence.
It is endowed with a large hinterland comprising Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Umbria and the Marches, which have a wealth of enterprises and industries, all of which means that the Port of Livorno handles a large amount of traffic.
