Three days after the Israeli targeting that struck Yemen, the city of Hodeidah witnessed, at dawn on Wednesday, a massive explosion in one of the oil tanks in the port of the city located on the Red Sea coast.
Flame and Smoke
Fire broke out from the port, and it caught fire amid rising columns of smoke after the flames expanded.
Meanwhile, local sources reported that a huge explosion was heard in the city of Hodeidah, after the burning fire reached one of the fuel tanks in the oil facilities in the port.
It also confirmed that efforts to contain the fire failed, which led to the fires expanding and reaching the fuel tank.
Targeted the port of Hodeidah
This fire coincided with the Israeli army’s announcement that its members intercepted two marches on Tuesday evening, which were on their way to Israel.
The Israeli bombing that targeted the port of Hodeidah last Saturday resulted in the death of nine civilians, the injury of 87 and the loss of three others, according to Houthi media, in addition to material damage.
Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee announced through his account on the “X” platform last Saturday that Israeli warplanes launched raids targeting Houthi targets in the Hodeidah port area in Yemen.
He said that this came in response to the Houthi attacks against Israel throughout recent months.
Attack on Tel Aviv
On the other hand, Houthi media reported that American and British forces launched a series of raids on the city of Hodeidah.
It indicated that the raids on Yemen targeted oil refining facilities in the port of Hodeidah, noting that there were deaths and injuries as a result, without indicating a specific toll.
Netanyahu said in a statement on Saturday that Hodeidah was “not an innocent port.”
