A fire has broken out on the 47-metre Heesen yacht ATINA while anchored in the Gulf of Olbia,in front of the beach of Lido del Sole Sardina , Italy.
The extent of the damage is unconfirmed but appears severe with the entire aft portion of Atina ablaze.whereas Sixteen people, of Turkish nationality, on board, fortunately safe on the tender of the vessel.
Eight of them had abandoned the vessel before the outbreak of the fire, have since been evacuated via tender.which started in the engine room.
Tackle the fire
The Olbia Fire Brigade has been working alongside the Olbia Coast Guard to tackle the fire since 8pm local time (10 August) according to local reports.
The harbor tug, Mascalzone Scatenato, was engaged in the extinguishing operations, while the Coast Guard patrol boat CP2116 kept the area clear; Bravo also arrived with a team of Firefighters
Rested on a seabed
Once the fire was extinguished, the boat rested on a seabed that is between 5 and 8 meters deep. Coast Guard vehicles are installing anti-pollution barriers. A light signal has been installed for navigation safety.
Sailed under many names
ATINA was delivered by the Dutch shipyard in 2008 and won a Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards the following year araccording to Boat International
She has sailed under many names, including Elandess, Raasta and Naseem. The superyacht was most recently sold in 2021 at a last known asking price of €16,250,000. Atina then underwent an extensive, multi-month refit with Turkish shipyard FDC Yachts to optimise her for charter.
Sundeck,
The most noteworthy change was the sundeck, which was redesigned with a larger pool set forward of the new navigation mast, a Teppanyaki grill and a large bar that could seat up to 12 guests for parties or sporting events.
ATINA (IMO: 1010296) is a Yacht and is sailing under the flag of Cook Is. Her length overall (LOA) is 46.7 meters and her width is 8.83 meters Marine traffic reported
