The engines, capable of running on both Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and conventional marine fuels, are designed to significantly reduce carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur oxides (SOx), and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions.

(HD HHI) selecting

In selecting Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD HHI) as the engine supplier, Sallaum Lines has chosen one of the leading engine builders in the world for its advanced maritime technology and commitment to innovation.

The HHI-EMD engine, in particular, offers key advantages that set it apart from the competition, including exceptional reliability, durability, long service intervals, easy maintenance, and cost efficiency in operation.

Its environmental friendliness, along with cutting-edge dual-fuel LNG technology, significantly reduces emissions, ensuring compliance with stringent international regulations.

Sallaum Lines’ decision to invest in dual-fuel technology reflects its broader agenda to adopt environmentally friendly practices in line with global maritime regulations and the company’s ambition to achieve zero emissions by 2050.

Reducing carbon footprint

“Investing in LNG dual-fuel technology reinforces our dedication to sustainability and the future of eco-friendly shipping,” said Mr. Puneet Arora, Head of Technical at Sallaum Lines. “This decision aligns with our long-term vision of reducing our carbon footprint and making meaningful contributions to the global transition toward clean energy.”

This initiative is part of a larger strategic approach by Sallaum Lines to continuously upgrade its fleet with innovative, green technologies. By integrating advanced propulsion systems, the company is actively reducing its environmental impact while also providing high-quality services to clients worldwide.
