Member authorities of the Tokyo and Paris, and Abuja MoU on Port State Control will launch a joint concentrated inspection campaign on Crew Wages and Seafarer’ Employment Agreements (MLC, 2006).
The goal of the CIC is to increase industry familiarity of MLC, 2006, regulations on crew wages and seafarer employment agreements through the verification of vessel compliance with these requirements.
The inspection campaign will be held for three months, commencing from September 1, 2024, and ending November 30, 2024.
Shipowners and operators may use the checklist appended to the joint press release to review their vessel’s compliance with respect to the focus of this CIC.
