Folk Maritime Partners with Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers to Strengthen Specialised Maritime Training for Saudi Nationals
Folk Maritime announced the appointment of Kim Kennet Larsen as a new Chief Commercial Officer.
Kim brings extensive experience in maritime ports, shipping, and supply chain management. He will play a key role in further developing and executing Folk Maritime’s commercial strategy, in addition to driving business development initiatives to expand shipping routes, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen regional connectivity.
They are confident that Kim’s contributions will help Folk Maritime to thrive further in our mission to enhance the Kingdom’s position in the global shipping industry
The agreement
On the other hand Folk Maritime has joined hands with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Middle East Chapter (ICS ME), to drive specialised maritime sector training in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
As per the agreement, (ICS ME) will serve as Folk Maritime’s Knowledge and Training Partner, underlining Folk’s commitment to creating new opportunities and upskilling Saudi talent to support its fast-growing feeder and liner services.

It is noteworthy that Folk Maritime Services Company, a PIF company and one of the region’s emerging leaders in providing regional liner and feeder services and short-sea services in the Middle East. They connect regional ports, drive trade growth, and support Saudi Arabia’s Vision to become a global logistics hub
Launch of two services
Folk Maritime announced also the launch of two services in the Red Sea with two container ships with a capacity of 2,500 standard containers per ship. The two services connect Jeddah to Neom, Yanbu in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Ain Sokhna in Egypt on a weekly basis.
A weekly service is also launched from Saudi Arabia to Sudan via the Egyptian port of Sokhna, via a container ship with a capacity of 700 standard containers every two weeks.
