The Spanish-Tunisian shipping company will call at both the port of Genoa and (upon request) that of Gioia Tauro
Almost a year after the first announcement, the Spanish-Tunisian shipping company Merna Shipping is preparing to launch a renewed regularRO-RO line between the Western Mediterranean, Egypt and the Persian Gulf with stops also in Italy called Mediterranean Express Service.
Already active with a connection from Livorno and Genoa RO RO to Misurata, Libya, Merna Shipping will now start a new line with scheduled calls in Spain (Alicante), France (Marseille), Italy (Genoa), Egypt (Alexandria), Saudi Arabia (Jeddah) and Jebel Ali (United Arab Emirates).
The announcement comes from the operations manager, Ghannem Abdelwaheb, who also specifies that berthing is also available in the port of Gioia Tauro upon specific request from shippers.The new Ro-Ro service to Jabal Ali , which complements our existing dedicated RORO services, will start from Alicante on 3rd of July.
Merna Shipping, in addition to its calls at the ports of Genoa and Livorno, is also familiar with the Italian market for having purchased the ro-ro ship Eurocargo Istanbul (renamed Merna 2) from Grimaldi Group last February, with approximately 2,500 linear meters of cargo capacity in the garage.
