The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of Milaha’s new shipping service, “MILAHA INTA GULF EXPRESS,” to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
This new service aims to enhance maritime connectivity between Saudi Arabia and the world while supporting national exports and imports.
Strengthen strategic partnerships
This development is part of Mawani‘s ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships with major regional and global shipping lines, aligning with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting the three continents, SPA reported.
The new shipping service
The new shipping service, with a total capacity of 1,015 TEUs, links King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with the ports of Umm Qasr in Iraq, Hamad in Qatar, Shuwaikh in Kuwait, Jebel Ali in the UAE, and Sohar in Oman.
A vital gateway for goods
King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam serves as the Kingdom’s primary port on the Arabian Gulf. It is connected to the Riyadh Dry Port by railway and acts as a vital gateway for goods arriving from around the world to the eastern and central regions of Saudi Arabia.

In the same context the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the new shipping service “EXS6” by Caerus to Jeddah Islamic Port, marking one of the first direct maritime shipping services between Saudi Arabia and Syria.
Increase in container handling during March 2025
On the other hand the ports supervised by the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) recorded a 13.61% increase in container handling during March 2025, reaching 699,928 TEUs compared to 616,079 TEUs in the same period last year.
Exported containers saw a significant rise of 31.82%, totaling 280,341 TEUs compared to 212,672 TEUs in the same period last year, while imported containers grew by 7.78%, reaching 281,216 TEUs compared to 260,912 TEUs. However, transshipment containers recorded a 2.89% decline, totaling 138,371 TEUs compared to 142,495 TEUs in the same period last year.
It is worth noting that Mawani achieved an 18.25% increase in exported containers in February 2025, totaling 215,491 TEUs compared to 182,229 TEUs in the same period last year. Passenger traffic also increased by 37.85%, reaching 93,400 passengers compared to 67,754 passengers in the same period last year.
