MSC World Atlantic will become the 25th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet and the fourth LNG-powered ship in the company's World Class series.

MSC Cruises marked a significant milestone in the construction of its next flagship, MSC World Atlantic, with her maiden voyage at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The float-out marks a significant milestone in the construction of the ship, as it is transferred from the construction dock into the water for the final finishing touches before delivery,' the statement explained. MSC World Atlantic will become the 25th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet and the fourth LNG-powered ship in the company's World Class series.

Cruise ship specifications 

Measuring approximately 215,863 gross tons, the ship will be another impressive world-class cruise ship, with a length of 333.3 metres, a width of 47 metres and a height of around 68 metres. It will be able to accommodate up to 6,762 passengers in 2,626 cabins, as well as around 2,138 crew members. The maximum speed at which the vessel can travel is approximately 22.7 knots. In terms of propulsion, the vessel, like her sister ships, has a dual-fuel system that is powered primarily by LNG (liquefied natural gas). The configuration includes five Wärtsilä 14V46DF engines, which together generate a total power output of around 80 MW.

The sailing of the MSC World Europa

The MSC World Europa will start offering 7- and 14-night itineraries alternating between the Eastern and Western Caribbean, exploring some of the region's most iconic destinations, in November 2027. Ports of call will include Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises' private island in the Bahamas.

After the float-out

Subsequent to the float-out, MSC World Atlantic will remain at Chantiers de l'Atlantique, where work on the interior, public areas, and the final technical elements will continue. She is scheduled to be officially delivered to MSC Cruises in 2027, ahead of her first Caribbean season, which begins in November of that year.
