The ship, operated by the Zim shipping company, initially seemed to be due to dock under the Lanterna (at the Genoa Port Terminal) with weapons in containers destined for Israel on board, but this was not the case.

A small group of protesters
A small group of protesters, escorted by the police, also started a small procession inside the port to be able to get close to the ship without reaching the dock. Some smoke bombs were lit and some speeches were made on the megaphone, then the protesters left the port through the gate on Via Albertazzi.
“We don’t know if there were weapons on that ship, it doesn’t seem so. But we know that every Zim ship is a link in the chain of war. And we know that Italian logistics, with ports, docks and military depots, is increasingly involved in the trafficking of death. This day demonstrates a simple thing: if the dockers coordinate, if the workers raise their heads, if solidarity is organized, then it is possible to stop the flow of weapons” denounced in a note the Unione Sindacale di base Usb after the demonstration in the port of Genoa.
According to the USB “it is possible to say No to war, No to rearmament, No to the economy of death. And then it is time to raise the level of the conflict. On June 20, let’s build together the general strike against war, the high cost of living, exploitation. Stopping the war is our task. Let’s block the weapons, let’s build peace with the struggle”.
