4,000 packs of slime with levels of heavy metals higher than those allowed were blocked in the airport
Packets of slime,Ā dangerious toys or the mouldable and gelatinous substance so loved by children, were seized in the port of Livorno last few days by the staff of the Customs and Monopolies Agency.

Imported from China and ready to be placed on the recreational market, the toys in fact presented both documentary and qualitative anomalies, as later emerged from subsequent checks on the goods, which Customs officials promptly detected following specific checks intensified also in virtue of the approaching holidays of chrismas

Based on the investigationsĀ of the Livorno Custums Office carried out and the laboratory results, the officials then seized the consignment consisting of four thousand packs of slime and reported the importing company to the public prosecutor’s office in Livorno, “responsible by law for the customs declaration with which attempted to import toys that were dangerous to children’s health

In addition to the seizure of the 4,000 packs of slime, the affair led to a complaint to the Livorno Public Prosecutor’s Office of the importing company and the person responsible for the customs declaration with which an attempt was made to import the dangerous toys.
