Rabie explained that the Suez Canal is adopting an ambitious strategy to maximize its capabilities in the field of providing maritime and logistical services, and localizing maritime industries in its affiliated companies and shipyards,Pointing out in this regard the Authority’s efforts to open up to international and Arab markets to market its products from auxiliary maritime units.

The Chairman of SCA reviewed the significant development witnessed by the Suez Canal in the field of infrastructure with the completion of the southern sector development project in its two parts, which is a qualitative leap that will allow enhancing the competitiveness of the canal.

Return of permanent stability to the Red Sea

Rabie addressed the repercussions of the turbulent situation in the Red Sea region and its negative effects on the decline in navigation traffic rates in the Suez Canal, and the movement of exports and imports to a large number of Arab countries, in addition to the decline in trading rates in the ports operating in the region during the past year, expressing his hope for the return of permanent stability to the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab region in light of the positive indicators witnessed by the region recently.

The meeting witnessed the discussion of a proposal to establish a regional center for maritime accident investigations in cooperation between the Suez Canal Authority  SCA and the Secretariat of ASPF , through the Authority’s Maritime Training and Simulation Academy conducting investigations into maritime accidents and submitting its results to the Secretariat of the Federation.
