The Egyptian authorities received a report that a “tourist launch” sank in the Nile waters in Cairo between the Qasr el-Nil and Old Cairo areas, with 14 Egyptian and Gulf passengers on board.
Suffocation
It turned out that an Egyptian family was hosting their Gulf relatives and they went out for a walk in the Nile and took a tourist boat, but it sank in the water, resulting in suffocation of 4 Gulf citizens and 5 Egyptians.

Investigations revealed that the launch’s license had expired and had not been renewed, and its capacity was supposed to not exceed 4 people only.
The necessary report was prepared on the incident, and the Public Prosecution was notified to investigate.
