Santagata : A New CEO of Fincantieri’s Naval Vessels Division

Eugenio Santagata will succeed Dario Deste, who is retiring but will continue to follow the development of the business in the US

Eugenio Santagata will assume the position of Director of Fincantieri’s Naval Vessels Division effective September 1st, succeeding Dario Deste. Deste will retire after a long career with the group, but will continue to work with the CEO on developing operations in the United States.according to Shipping Italy

An officer in the Italian Army in the early years of his career, Fincantieri recalls in a statement, Santagata served in complex international operational environments, before holding management positions in defense companies. At Elettronica SpA (Elt Group), he led international development and strategic planning activities in high-priority geopolitical areas.

Since 2015, Santagata has focused on cyber intelligence, cybersecurity, cryptography, and secure quantum communications, founding and listing CY4Gate and leading the transformation of Telsy, part of the TIM group, where he also served as Chief Public Affairs, Security & International Business Officer.

With a degree in Law and Political Science, he attended the Nunziatella Military School and the Military Academy in Modena, completing his education with two master’s degrees in the United States, including an LL.M. in Law and an M.Sc. in Management, as well as an MBA from the London Business School. He is a lecturer at Luiss Business School and Khalifa University and has been awarded the Knight of Merit of the Republic.
