The contract includes the establishment of two centers of excellence in leadership and crisis management within the Suez Canal Authority’s training academy
Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), witnessed today, Wednesday, the signing ceremony of the cooperation contract between the Suez Canal Authority and Maersk Training Company, at the authority’s headquarters in the guidance building in Ismailia Governorate.
Signing the contract
The contract was signed by Eng. Yasser El-Shashenji, Director of Communications Department at the Suez Canal Authority, Mr. Vijay Rangachari, Director of Maersk Training – Dubai, Head of Growth and Strategic Projects Sector at the Headquarters, and Mr. Omar Garbo, General Manager of Maersk Shipping Agency in Egypt and Lebanon at A.P. Moller – Maersk.
Partnership relations between SCA and Maersk
During his meeting, Admiral Osama Rabie expressed his pride in the extended cooperation and partnership relations between the SCA and the Maersk Group which resulted in achieving many joint successes
Rabie emphasises the continuation of future cooperation to include new areas of work, most notably the field of training to raise the level of human cadres by establishing two centers of excellence in leadership methods and crisis management in a scientific and systematic manner within the Suez Canal Authority’s training academy, which is scheduled to open early next year,

Chairman of SCA added that the Suez Canal seeks to complete its ambitious development strategy by developing its human resources by preparing a distinguished generation of creative cadres and energies in the Authority’s various sectors

Rabie indicated that the cooperation contract aims to work together to lay the foundation stone for providing specialized training content provided by the Suez Canal Authority’s Training Academy to be a scientific edifice with international specifications
Relationship decades-long partnership with SCA
On the other hand David Iscove, CEO of Maersk Training, said: “We at Maersk Training are proud of the close relationship and decades-long partnership with the Suez Canal Authority, which is a model to be emulated in fruitful cooperation. We look forward to enhancing cooperation by launching specialized global training programs during 2025,
For his part, Mr. Hany Elnady, representative of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group in the Middle East and North Africa, confirmed that the Suez Canal Authority and the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group have decades of successful strategic partnerships that will continue for decades, which is a reflection of the compatibility of visions and future strategic plans that always aim to explore new frameworks for cooperation in all areas of shipping, maritime transport, supply chains, finance, and all maritime and logistics services
