The General Administration of Coastal Security Branch in Tobruk announced the sinking of a General Cargo ship off the coast of Ras al-Tin, 115 kilometers west of Tobruk.
A frogmen company affiliated with the “General Command” forces rescued six sailors out of nine who were on board the ship, and they are in good health, according to what was stated on the branch’s Facebook page today, Friday.
The branch indicated that the information came from the “Transiting Immigrants and Humanitarian Services” Foundation, noting that efforts to search for the missing are continuing.

The current position of DANA is at East Mediterranean reported 10 days ago by AIS. The vessel is en route to BANGAZI, sailing at a speed of 0.5 knots and expected to arrive there on Oct 31, 20:00. The vessel DANA (IMO 8104553, MMSI 677031700) is a General Cargo Ship built in 1981 (43 years old) and currently sailing under the flag of Tanzania.
