Fincantieri announced the delivery of the Four Seasons I at its Ancona shipyard. This is the first ultra-luxury cruise yacht built for Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings Ltd., the joint owner and operator of Four Seasons Yachts.Those present at the event for Fincantieri included Chairman Biagio Mazzotta; CEO and General Manager Pierroberto Folgiero; Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Merchant Ships Division; and Ben Trodd, CEO of Four Seasons Yachts.

The world's first smart ultra-luxury ship 

The shipyard explains that the Four Seasons I "represents a new benchmark for luxury at sea and the world's first Smart ultra-luxury ship. It marks a decisive step in the digital evolution of the shipping industry." The Navis Sapiens program debuts with the group's first Navis Sapiens, presented at Seatrade 2025. Developed by Fincantieri Ingenium, a joint venture between Fincantieri NexTech and Accenture, it paves the way for a new generation of smart ships. 

These ships are based on an integrated, constantly evolving digital architecture. This architecture leverages artificial intelligence and real-time data. It ensures safer, more efficient, and more forward-looking operations. Its open and scalable design allows for the integration of emerging features and technologies without impacting the onboard guest experience."

With its all-suite, residential-style concept, the Four Seasons I is opening a new frontier in ultra-luxury hospitality at sea. The 34,000-ton, 207-meter-long ship has only 95 suites, each of which is designed as a private oceanfront retreat. Its design aims to eliminate the barriers between guests and the sea with its expansive terraces and outdoor spaces. 

The Funnel Suite, the ship's true icon, offers 457 square meters of private indoor and outdoor space and ranks among the most exclusive accommodations ever created at sea. Drawing inspiration from the Four Seasons approach of personalized service, world-class comfort, and meticulous attention to detail, the ship establishes a new category of travel at sea. According to the shipyard, each suite is designed as a unique environment, crafted with exceptional materials and generous spaces that redefine the ocean experience in ultra-luxury.

The Ancona 's strategic importance

For several months, Four Seasons I at the Ancona shipyard has been the site of a massive collaborative effort, with over 2,000 individuals, including Fincantieri employees and partner companies, working tirelessly on the project. The 360,000-square-meter site has a production capacity of 60,000 GT, lifting systems with a capacity of up to 500 tons, and a hull construction capacity of 1,200 tons per month. 

These features confirm the site's strategic importance within the Fincantieri network. Ancona is also part of the Group's Operations Excellence program, which introduces advanced technologies to improve efficiency and the quality of work. These technologies include automation, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and collaborative robots.
