According to a Johor Port Berhad circular, the company has introduced designated safety routes for port users across its premises to strengthen operational safety and reduce risk.
The operator has defined two categories of routes within the port area. One is a public access route applicable to all port users, and the second is an operational access route restricted to operational staff and authorized personnel. The plan for the layout of the route has been issued. This plan provides further details on the designated access corridors within the port. The circular also establishes regulations for the movement and conduct of operations within the port area.https://www.johorport.com.my/media/announcement/2026/implementation-of-designated-safety-routes-in-joho
The Port Security & Safety Department (PSSD) must approve the parking, stacking, grounding, or placement of vehicles, equipment, containers, or other materials along the public access route. Port users are required to exercise reasonable care for their own safety and health, as well as for the safety of others, while performing work on port premises.

The operator is not responsible for any risks, including injury or death, or for damages or losses resulting from actions or inactions that take place during work activities within the port area. Johor Port has reiterated the speed limits throughout the facility. The maximum speed is 15 km/h in the JCT block area, 25 km/h in the wharf and yard areas, and 45 km/h on the main roads and in the non-operational areas.
