A couple of Italian shipping companies have also reported significant movements in the second-hand tanker market. Shipbrokers have confirmed the sale of the Binta Saleha 47,400-ton MR2 tanker built in 2010 by the Japanese shipyard Onomichi Dockyard. The buyer is 3M Shipping of Sorrento (Naples). The agreed price for this transfer of ownership is around $22 million, according to the specialised database VesselsValue.
3M Shipping was established in 2023, but is controlled by the same shareholders as Socomar: Mistral Srl (owned by Ilva Krisane and Marco Massa), Zetah Srl (owned by Simona Massa) and Alfa4 Srl (owned by Leila Anna Massa, who is also the company's sole director).
Concurrently, the erstwhile Mare Doricum (subsequently rechristened Libera), a 158,600-ton Suezmax tanker constructed in South Korea by the Samsung shipyard in 2009, was also purportedly sold to Greek interests by Fratelli d'Amico Armatori for $44 million.

Following this sale, it seems that the Roman shipping company now has only one ship left in its fleet: the Mare Siculum. This is a sister ship of the 2011 Suezmax (built by Samsung) with a deadweight of 158,600 tons.
Fratelli d'Amico Armatori SpA is a prominent Italian ship management and owning company based in Rome, specializing in the tanker and dry cargo sectors. Founded by the d'Amico family, it operates a modern fleet—often focusing on Product Tankers—providing commercial and ISM management services with a focus on safety and environmental sustainability.
