Viking Vela, the first of a new series of cruise ships that Fincantieri is building for the Viking shipowner, was delivered today at the Ancona shipyard.
The small cruise ship
This was announced by the Navalmeccanica company itself, specifying that the unit belongs to the small cruise ship segment, has a gross tonnage of approximately 54,300 tons, is equipped with 499 cabins and is able to accommodate 998 passengers on board.
Viking Vela is the thirteenth ship
Viking Vela is the thirteenth ship delivered by Fincantieri to the Viking shipowner, including the two expedition units built by the subsidiary Vard. Considering the ships ordered to date and the contracts and options signed in recent months (subject to financing according to industry practice) the solid, long-lasting partnership between Fincantieri and Viking includes a total of 26 ships.
