The project reached an important milestone in the final week of February with the keel laying ceremony, which marked the official start of full construction. Dominus is scheduled for delivery in April 2027.

"By combining innovation with decades of maritime expertise, we are proud to support our valued partner, N-Sea, and contribute to a stronger, more resilient maritime sector." To further reduce emissions, we will install highly efficient Tier 3 engines with diesel-electric propulsion. We have also carefully considered ways to further improve the safety and well-being of the crew. These efforts are entirely in line with the sustainability ambitions of both Rederij Groen and N-Sea.”
"Here at Shipyard De Hoop, we believe that strong partnerships are the foundation of successful projects. Our collaboration with PASSER enables us to combine innovation, experience, and precision engineering. We look forward to seeing this vessel take shape and continuing our long-term

"Rederij Groen and N-Sea are sincerely thanked by Lars-Fredrik Bakke, CEO of PASSER, for the trust that has been placed in us," it was said. "This contract is a significant achievement for our teams working across companies and borders. Together with Shipyard De Hoop, we look forward to delivering this vessel as one team."
Notably measuring 69.85 meters in length, 15.77 meters in beam, and 4.50 meters in draft, the Dominus is engineered to support safe and efficient operations in the demanding North Sea environment. It will be equipped to perform a wide range of advanced geophysical and subsea activities, including 2D/3D seismic surveys and wide swath UXO surveys. Its spacious deck layout, lifting capacity, and midship moonpool provide a strong foundation for significantly expanding N-Sea’s geotechnical capabilities and enhancing the company’s integrated site investigation offerings.
An important step in N-Sea's long-term fleet strategy is represented by the addition of the Dominus, and the company's continued commitment to expanding and modernizing its dedicated tonnage is demonstrated. These vessels will further strengthen N-Sea’s position as a leading provider of integrated subsea, survey, and cable repair solutions in the offshore energy sector.
"An important milestone in N Sea's ambition to reinforce our leadership in integrated subsea and survey solutions is marked by the construction of the Dominus. This vessel will enable us to expand our geophysical and geotechnical capabilities and execute increasingly complex offshore projects with confidence.
