Van der Valk has delivered the custom 35.9-metre superyacht Jangada.(MMSI 211354740 - sailing under the flag of Germany. ) According to BOATPro, the newly built vessel has departed from the shipyard in Waalwijk, the Netherlands, and is now en route to Plymouth in the UK. Following the completion of sea trials in the North Sea, where the shipyard reported that the ship "met every expectation", Jangada's delivery was initiated.
The Van der Valk yard launched the custom yacht in November, having received a commission from a repeat client of the Dutch builders. This client previously owned a 25-metre and a 32-metre under the same name, the latter of which was nominated for a World Superyacht Award in 2020.
The shipyard launched the first Jangada in 2015 as one of Van der Valk's earliest raised pilothouse models and it has since inspired "a number of notable projects for other clients", according to the yard. All three vessels were developed in collaboration with the shipyard and designers Nick Top and Guido de Groot.
A growing family and "structural changes" to the owner's home berth in the Bay of St Tropez have been factored into the design of this 35.9-metre build. The shipyard was guided by the request for an additional deck and higher levels of noise and vibration attenuation to elect a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and extensive sound insulation throughout.Jangada's standout amenities include a dedicated gym, 2.6-metre-high ceilings, expansive windows and a jet-stream pool. The latter is located on the flybridge and is 4.5 metres long and 1.5 metres deep.

Meanwhile, the interiors are said to showcase whitewashed wood details combined with 'architectural functionality'. The family-friendly layout includes a full-beam owner's suite forward of the main deck and customised lower deck cabins for the owner's children and grandchildren.Van der Valk has five yachts on order or under construction, according to BOATPro. These include its largest custom superyacht to date: the 47.8-metre Project Zen.
