The latest quarterly results show that the port's growth continues unabated, with total throughput reaching 55.06 million TEU in 2025, marking a 6.9% year-on-year increase

Shanghai port moved 14.106 million TEU in the first quarter of 2026. This kept volumes at record levels at the world's largest container gateway. This is according to official port statistics. Throughput in January reached 5.063 million TEU, followed by 4.351 million TEU in February and 4.692 million TEU in March.

The flow of goods traded internationally remained strong, with 8.494 million TEU of containers passing through in the first three months of the year. There was also a high level of international vessel traffic for the period, with 11,000 inbound and outbound calls recorded.
