Torsten Holst Pedersen, a Danish national, has been recruited by CMA CGM as Senior Vice President of CMA Ships, the group's ship management subsidiary, with effect from 1 July. Adhering to a policy of asset control, CMA Ships currently manages over 400 vessels that are either owned or bareboat chartered, including 30 container ships that fly the French flag. CMA CGM is expected to overtake Maersk and become the world's second-largest shipping company in terms of capacity by 2027. He will report to Christine Cabau Woehrel, Head of Group Operations and Assets.
In a LinkedIn post, CMA CGM announced that Torsten, who has over twenty years of international experience in ship management and maritime operations, will support the next phase of development at CMA Ships. With over twenty years' experience in ship management and maritime operations, Torsten is well placed to support this development. His expertise will strengthen operational excellence, technical innovation and the performance of a growing fleet that connects businesses, economies and communities across the globe.

Torsten Holst Pedersen, formerly with Svitzer (Maersk's tugboat subsidiary), the port services group Inchcape and the ship management giant V. Group, is currently based in Vancouver and is in charge of operations for Seaspan, the number one non-container shipowner. Seaspan has nearly 200 vessels chartered to major container shipping companies, including CMA CGM. He joined Seaspan in 2018 as head of ship management.
The CMA SHIPS ship management subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group is at the service of the global maritime transportation and logistics industry, which is one of the world's largest. Founded in 2008, CMA SHIPS is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and technical management of over 350 of the group's vessels.
