Greek tanker manager Maran takes fourth of eight LNG dual-fuel Suezmaxes

Maran Tankers Management, a company part of the Angelicoussis Group of Greece, has taken delivery of the Maran Myrsini. This is the fourth vessel in a series of dual-fuel Suezmax oil tankers. The 155,500-deadweight-tonne (DWT) vessel was constructed by New Times Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in China and is registered under the Greek flag

Maran Tankers has revealed that the vessel incorporates a hull form that has been optimised, advanced energy-saving devices, an arrangement of shaft generator that has been designed to improve operational performance and lower fuel consumption, as well as efficient management of boil-off gas (BOG). Maran Myrsini's dual-fuel capability allows the vessel to operate on LNG as well as conventional marine fuel

The China-based Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group is headquartered in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province, and New Times Shipbuilding is part of this group.

Operate under the Greek flag

On the other hand, a decision by the Greek government identifies Atlantis Ships Ltd, based in Liberia, as the owner of the vessel and Maran Tankers Management as its representative in Greece. Greek interests represent more than half of the owner’s capital, and the tanker has been approved to operate under the Greek flag

Maran Tankers Management ("MTM") is the Oil Tanker Shipping unit of the Angelicoussis Group. MTM was established in 1992 to manage the Oil Tankers of Angelicoussis Group. Angelicoussis Group has a well-established track record in shipping dating back to 1947.
