Having previously spent a decade at A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk), Roberta Duarte is returning to take on the role of Chief People Officer and join the company's Executive Leadership Team with effect from 1 November 2026.
Roberta Duarte said: “I am truly honoured to be returning to Maersk. It feels like home to me, both because its values resonate strongly with my own and because I built so many relationships during my time at the company.”

Roberta Duarte, a Brazilian passport holder, worked at Maersk from 2014 to 2024. She held senior people leadership roles in the Asia Pacific and Latin America regions, as well as in the Ocean & Logistics division, before joining Werfen. She is currently Werfen's Chief People Officer. Before her first tenure at Maersk, Roberta Duarte worked at Citibank, holding various roles in Latin America and North America.

In August, Maersk announced that Susana Elvira, Chief People Officer, had decided to explore opportunities outside the company after 24 years of service.
