Ton Visseras brings extensive experience in the oil, gas, chemical, and bunker industries, which will be a great asset to the team.

APIA has announced the appointment of Ton Visseras as its new Training and Technical Advisor, with Visseras bringing extensive experience from the oil, gas, chemical, and bunker industries, having worked in the sector since 1985. He is an expert in refinery and chemical operations, storage and blending, safety and environmental matters, and marine gas oil and residual fuel oils.

Ton is a lecturer and author

A lecturer and author, Ton began his career developing a wide range of in-house and bespoke training programmes for the oil industry. He then joined DNV Petroleum Services in Rotterdam as a Technical Fuel Advisor and later became Coordinator of the Technical Services Section, overseeing technical fuel-related activities.

Ton has been a business partner and co-owner of Oiltraining B.V. since 2010. The company specialises in training and seminars for the oil, gas, chemical and bunker industries, as well as consultancy and advisory services.

Reviewing and developing IBIA's training materials

In his new role with IBIA, he will work closely with Nigel and the Training Working Group. The two of them will be reviewing and developing IBIA's training materials, and Ton will also be supporting the continued development of the organisation's online training platform. Ton will also provide technical expertise and support to IBIA’s boards, working groups and secretariat on fuel, regulatory, safety and operational matters.
