MSC Cruises has announced that modernization work has begun on the MSC Magnifica, "marking the start of an extensive enhancement program that underscores the company's ongoing commitment to enhancing the guest experience on board its fleet." In service since 2010, this ship is the first of two Musica-class ships to enter dry dock at the Palumbo Malta Shipyard in Malta for refitting.
The MSC Yacht Club
The ship will feature the MSC Yacht Club with 63 new suites, two new specialty restaurants (Butcher's Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar), as well as an upgraded MSC Aurea Spa and Technogym fitness center, among other new features. Completion is scheduled for December, with the exclusive MSC Yacht Club experience available from summer 2026, when MSC Magnifica sails in Northern Europe.
Exceptional services of the MSC Yacht Club

MSC Cruises CEO Gianni Onorato said: “These enhancements confirm our ongoing commitment to offering guests the best possible experience and exceptional facilities across the fleet. With the introduction of the MSC Yacht Club on these ships, we aim to offer guests more exclusivity and more choice than ever before. The MSC Yacht Club is our flagship service, renowned for its exceptional service, elegant surroundings and exclusive comforts, and we are proud to bring this experience to MSC Magnifica and Poesia, in time for our first Alaska season and the MSC World Cruise 2027.”

MSC Poesia, MSC Magnifica's sister ship
MSC Poesia, MSC Magnifica's sister ship, will also enter dry dock at the same shipyard in February 2026 for a refit. This will include the addition of the MSC Yacht Club, with 69 suites, and the All-Stars Sports Bar, in addition to the same specialty restaurants and improvements to the fitness areas and the MSC Aurea Spa already planned for MSC Magnifica. The ship will return to the fleet in time for its Alaskan debut, scheduled for May 2026.
The largest upgrade and refit projects
These are the largest upgrade and refit projects carried out by the company in the last decade, entirely designed and managed internally by the MSC Cruises Technical Department.
MSC Magnifica will depart Warnemünde

MSC Magnifica will depart Warnemünde, Germany, on May 16, 2026, heading to Northern Europe, calling at Denmark, the Baltics, Scandinavia, and Finland. Later in the year, she will offer three- to eight-night Mediterranean cruises to ports including Barcelona, Civitavecchia (Rome), and Marseille. Subsequently, the ship will embark on her 2027 Around the World Cruise, where the MSC Yacht Club will debut on this 121-night voyage, visiting 45 spectacular destinations in 25 countries.
MSC Poesia will offer seven-night cruises
MSC Poesia will offer seven-night cruises from Seattle from May to September 2026, followed by round-trip itineraries from Miami to the Caribbean in the 2026/2027 winter season, calling at Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Aruba, Curaçao and Belize.
