A subsidiary of d'Amico International Shipping S.A. (DIS), the Irish-registered company d'Amico Tankers D.A.C. recently signed new financing agreements for six of its owned vessels. The total amount of the financing was $83 million. The margin on the three-month SOFR (Secured Overnight Financing Rate, the benchmark for dollar-denominated loans, ed.) ranged from 130 basis points (for the most recent financing) to 150 basis points, with an average margin of 1.42%.
D'Amico issued a statement announcing the news. To date, DIS's fleet comprises 29 double-hull product tankers (MR, Handysize, and LR1), of which 27 are owned and two are bareboat chartered. The fleet's average age is 9.6 years. Carlos Di Mottola, the CEO of D'Amico International Shipping, stated: "Thanks to the solidity of our current financial structure, the improvement in our creditworthiness, and the positive market outlook, DIS has been able to refinance part of its debt by taking out new loans at very competitive SOFR margins."

In this regard, Federico Rosen, the Chief Financial Officer of D’Amico International Shipping (DIS), added, “We have refinanced a significant portion of our debt at highly favorable terms, which is a testament to our company’s financial strength. By securing new financing with an historically low SOFR margin, DIS reduced its average margin to 1.62% as of March 2026. This extended the average remaining debt maturity from 3.3 years to 4.9 years and lowered the total debt set to mature in 2027 from $67.3 million to $10.9 million. These transactions further strengthen our financial flexibility and improve the company's debt maturity profile."
