Luxembourg – –D’Amico International Shipping S.A.. (Borsa Italiana: DIS) (the “Company”or “DIS”), a leading international marine transportation company operating in the product tanker market, announces that, since the beginning of the current year, its operating subsidiary, d’Amico Tankers D.A.C. (Ireland) (“d’Amico Tankers”), has signed new time charter agreements and extended certain existing agreements with reputable counterparties at very profitable daily rates. These changes will take effect in early 2026
Meanwhile the D'Amico Group announced that the time charter contract for an Eco-MR1 vessel was extended by 17 months and the contract for an MR2 vessel, which was set to expire in November, was extended by 15 months. Additionally, new time charter contracts have been signed for an Eco-MR1 and an Eco-MR2 vessel, each for 12 months, as well as for an Eco-LR1 vessel for 24 months. The charterer has the option to extend the contract for an additional 12 months at a higher daily rate.
Following the conclusion of these time-charter contracts, D’Amico I.S. estimates that it will have the following fixed-rate coverage: For 2026, 54% of the fleet’s vessel days are fixed at an average time charter equivalent (TCE) rate of approximately $23,492. For 2027, 22% of the fleet’s vessel days are fixed at an average TCE rate of approximately $23,528 per day. For 2028, 1% of the fleet’s vessel days are guaranteed at an average TCE rate of approximately $26,444 per day.
Carlos Di Mottola, the CEO of D’Amico International Shipping, said: "I am pleased to announce the signing of these contracts with leading counterparties, including some of our long-standing clients, at extremely profitable rates. In line with our long-term business strategy, we have maintained a balanced level of coverage, capitalizing on the current strength of the time charter market and securing a significant portion of our future revenues.
Adding : We are pleased with the coverage we have achieved this year and are well-positioned to benefit from the robust market environment for our spot vessels.” The company's top management added, "An extraordinarily strong crude oil freight market, a rapidly aging and increasingly sanctioned global fleet, and significant oil supply growth combined with inefficiencies resulting from disruptions to maritime trade and recent geopolitical developments in Venezuela and the potential for developments in the Iranian scenario should continue to support a robust product tanker freight market in the near term."
