Dubai — The United Arab Emirates has temporarily paused operations at Jebel Ali Port in response to ongoing Iranian missile and drone assaults, a decision that may have a substantial impact on regional commercial flows, especially exports to Iraq. Authorities said that activity at the port, one of the busiest in the Middle East and a major global shipping center operated by DP World, has been halted until further notice as a precautionary security measure.
The suspension of customs processes between the Jebel Ali Free Zone and the UAE mainland is temporary.

Jebel Ali is a vital logistics hub for goods heading to Iraq. Iraq relies heavily on consumer goods, construction materials, and equipment imported via the UAE. Any prolonged shutdown could disrupt supply chains and delay deliveries to Iraqi markets, which could have negative economic consequences for Iraq.
As Iranian attacks continue, the port's role as a major transit point for trade between the Gulf, Asia, and Africa amplifies the potential regional impact of the suspension.
