DUBAI, (Reuters) - As reported by industry insiders, the majority of storage facilities and docking areas at the Fujairah Oil Tanker Terminal (FOTT) are currently operational once more. Shipping agent reports indicate that all berths at Oil Terminal 1 and the VLCC jetty are operational. Several berths at Oil Terminal 2 have also resumed accepting vessels
Meanwhile, the Fujairah Press Office announced the resumption following an incident on March 9. Debris from a drone intercepted by UAE air defense systems fell inside the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, sparking a fire that damaged oil storage infrastructure. Authorities said the blaze was quickly brought under control. However, the incident forced several terminals to temporarily suspend operations as a precaution. Where some oil-loading operations were suspended in the United Arab Emirates' Fujairah emirate. Calls to the port, as well as state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (Adnoc), were not answered.
This emirate is a major bunkering hub and crude oil export terminal. About 1 million barrels of the UAE's Murban crude oil, which makes up about 1% of the world's demand, are exported daily from Fujairah, located outside the Strait of Hormuz. Thanks to a pipeline that ends in Fujairah, the UAE can bypass the Strait of Hormuz, the world's most important oil chokepoint, which has been all but closed due to the war between the US, Israel, and Iran.

On the other hand with a storage capacity of about 1.18 million cubic meters, FOTT is one of the main locations where crude cargoes are loaded in the emirate. Following the attack, several terminal operators halted loading operations, and bunker terminals suspended loading fuel onto barges. This tightened the availability of marine fuel for ships operating in the region. Traders said that limited bunkering continued using inventories already stored on barges, though suppliers have been unable to replenish those stocks until terminal operations resume fully.
The state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has informed its international partners with stakes in Murban crude production that they can load some March cargoes from Fujairah. This signals a gradual normalization of operations
The Gulf of Oman is where Fujairah port is located, and it is connected to the Indian Ocean outside the Strait of Hormuz. The approximately 400-kilometer Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP) links it to the Abu Dhabi oil fields in the UAE. Up to 1.8 million barrels of crude oil per day arrive directly at Fujairah Port through this pipeline. Most of the oil is exported to Asia and Europe.

Fujairah Oil Terminals FZC (FOT) is a world class 1.177 million cubic meters onshore oil storage facility based in the rapidly developing port of Fujairah, which is located in the United Arab Emirates outside the Straits of Hormuz on the Indian Ocean. FOT is an independent third party storage and owned by a group of shareholders including the government of Fujairah.
