The 4,544 TEU containership Maersk Gironde collided with the 6,500 CEU car carrier SFL Composer in the busy Danish Straits near Fyns Hoved, Denmark. Both vessels sustained significant above-waterline damage, but no injuries or pollution have been reported.

The Maersk Gironde suffered bow damage, while SFL Composer sustained a long scrape and a large dent with a hole near its stern.The Danish Maritime Authority is reporting that both vessels were detained for further inspections and an investigation of the incident.
