In partnership with the Tahya Misr Fund and the Egyptian government, the CMA CGM Foundation is leveraging the maritime and logistics expertise of the CMA CGM Group to support vulnerable populations in Lebanon, the Group said. The entire logistics chain for delivering humanitarian aid provided by the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Lebanese population has been organised by the Foundation.
Over 800 tonnes of aid, comprising medical supplies, pharmaceutical products and hygiene kits, are being transported in 53 containers. As part of the Containers of Hope programme, the CMA CGM Foundation has utilised the expertise of the CMA CGM Group to transport the aid from Egypt to Lebanon.
The emergency aid was assembled under the auspices of the Tahya Misr Fund, transported by rail to the Alexandria terminal and then shipped to the CMA terminal in Beirut aboard the CMA CGM Sahara. The vessel is expected to arrive at the Port of Beirut later this week.

This comes in line with directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to provide full support to Lebanon amid rapidly evolving developments and severe humanitarian conditions The shipment included food baskets, blankets, shelter supplies as well as medicines and medical equipment, enabling Lebanese authorities to address the health impacts of the ongoing crisis and compensate for gaps in the country’s medical sector.
Egypt reiterated its full support for the efforts of Lebanese state institutions to assert authority over the entirety of their national territory and called for an immediate halt to Israeli violations and attacks.
