An investment in Xiamen Container Terminal Group (XCTG) has been successfully secured by PSA International Pte Ltd (PSA). This group consists of eight container terminals with a combined annual designed capacity of approximately 20 million TEUs. The investment was secured through an official public bidding process. Completion of the transaction is subject to relevant regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions
As part of the transaction, PSA will increase its investment in the Xiamen Port Intermodal Logistics Hub (XPLH) further, thereby enhancing the integration of Fujian's ports, supply chains, and intermodal capabilities. An important step in PSA's long-term commitment to China is marked by this investment, and PSA's strategic presence in Fujian is reinforced, where investments have been made by PSA in Xiamen and Fuzhou.
It was said by Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO of PSA International, that PSA is honoured to deepen its partnership in Fujian through investment in Xiamen Container Terminal Group and Xiamen Port Intermodal Logistics Hub. Alongside PSA’s existing venture in Fuzhou, Fujian is envisioned as a strategic global hub, strengthening and enhancing the total ecosystem effort to better serve customers. When completed, this venture will create resilience and extensive customer value for sustainable global trade as part of PSA's Node-to-Network strategy."
The Chairman of Xiamen Port Group, Cai Li Qun, said that the partnership shows how Xiamen Port Group and PSA are strongly aligned in their support for the Silk Road Maritime Strategy and in enhancing Fujian's role in international trade and shipping. By combining our local strengths with PSA’s global capabilities and network, we will continue to strengthen Xiamen’s competitiveness and promote integrated port and logistics development across the province.”

The partnership supports the ongoing development of the Fujian Maritime Silk Road Strategy and PSA’s vision of a port ecosystem that integrates ports more closely with inland logistics, intermodal connectivity and wider supply chain capabilities. Strategically positioned along China’s southeast coast, Fujian is well placed to support the growth of trade with the Global South and facilitate efficient access to China’s import, distribution and supply chain networks.
