Alexandria : Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority SCA and His Excellency Suleiman bin Khalid Al-Mazrou,,Chairman Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) Saudi Arabia accompanied by a high-level delegation, met to discuss ways of future cooperation, on the sidelines of the annual International Maritime Transport and Logistics Conference (MARLOG).

The meeting witnessed discussions on cooperation mechanisms in the areas of providing logistics services, building marine units, port works, dredging, and others.

At the beginning of the meeting, Admirl Osama Rabie expressed his aspiration to strengthen partnership and friendship relations and extend bridges of cooperation to include new areas of work in line with the nature of the current stage in light of the development of the concept of maritime and logistical services at the Suez Canal Authority and the increasing requirements of Saudi seaports.

Rabie confirmed that the Suez Canal Authority SCA has a successful cooperation experience with the Saudi Ports Authority Mawani as the Authority’s Maritime Simulation and Training Academy carried out a successful modeling process for Ras Al-Khair Port in Saudi Arabia in preparation for implementing a duplication process for the approach channel in the port, a cooperation that witnessed great praise from the Saudi Ports Authority delegation.
Rabie reviewed the efforts to localize the maritime industry in the shipyards and companies affiliated with the Suez Canal Authority, which witnessed a major boom during the past two years under the slogan “Made in Egypt with global quality and competitive prices,” and invited them to visit the Suez Canal pavilion at the IME 2026 Maritime Services and Equipment Exhibition.

On the other hand His Excellency Suleiman bin Khalid Al-Mazrou, Chairman Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) Saudi Arabia expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Suez Canal Authority in promoting sustainability and stability for global maritime traffic passing through the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab region

The Chairman of the General Authority for Ports Mawani in KSA emphasizes the readiness of Saudi ports and the Suez Canal to receive the return of major shipping lines to cross through the region again after the situation stabilizes.The Chairman of Mawani expressed his desire to cooperate with the Suez Canal in the field of ferry construction, as well as to cooperate with the Authority’s companies working in the fields of dredging and dock works, especially with the Kingdom’s direction to develop Jeddah Port and carry out many infrastructure projects.
Al-Mazrou stressed that cooperation with the Suez Canal Authority reflects the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries and the unity of goals, expecting that the coming period will witness more constructive cooperation between the two sides .Official Spokesperson for the Suez Canal Authority George Safwat stated
