It is the final ship in the first series of 16,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ships built by Yangzhou COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry for COSCO SHIPPING Lines. The 366-meter-long, 51-meter-wide vessel has a deck area larger than three standard football fields. With a capacity of 16,136 TEU, it reduces carbon emissions by about 8.9% compared to conventional ships.
It is equipped with the world’s first WinGD methanol dual-fuel main engine, as well as dual-fuel generators and boilers.Its optimized methanol tank layout improves space efficiency, and its intelligent control system enhances vessel management.
Ships like this one are capable of reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 120,000 tons on an annual basis. Furthermore, they boast an EEDI that surpasses the baseline by more than 50%.This project is a milestone for green, low-carbon, and intelligent shipping.

Notably, COSCO Shipping, a Chinese shipping and logistics conglomerate, announced that its container liner unit has suspended all new bookings for routes to and from ports in the Middle East, including those in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. COSCO Shipping Lines said in a statement that the move was due to escalating conflict in the region and traffic restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz.I t added that bookings for routes to and from Bahrain, Iraq, and Kuwait have also been suspended.
