Shipping Lines

From 12 November, the Taiwanese company will activate the OGRD (Ocean-Going Ad Hoc Call Red Sea) connection via the Suez Canal.

In the coming days, Evergreen's vessels will return to the Suez Canal for the first time since 2024. According to Linerlytica, the 16,556 TEU vessels Ever Eon and Ever Edit will pass through the waterway on 7 and 11 November, respectively, as part of the Ocean Alliance's Neu7/Ces service. They will finally join those of Evergreen's partners, CMA CGM, COSCO and OOCL. Also as part of the partnership, the 20,124 TEU Ever Gifted will return to transit the Suez Canal on 16 November as part of the MD2 service, which also calls at Genoa and La Spezia.

Activate the OGRD

From 12 November, the Taiwanese company will activate the OGRD (Ocean-Going Ad Hoc Call Red Sea) connection via the Suez Canal. This will involve calls at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Jeddah, Sokhna, Aqaba and Port Klang, using four ships with a capacity of between 7,000 and 9,000 TEU.

About: Evergreen

As is well known, Evergreen is the latest of the major container lines operating within alliances to announce its intention to resume transits via the traditional route. Other recent announcements include the return of two other Premier Alliance services, the MD1 and MS2/MP2, in mid-December. The latter also calls at Italian ports, reaching Genoa and La Spezia.

Zim has been excluded from the game.

Among the major players in container transport, Zim, an Israeli carrier that continues to be targeted by the Houthis, particularly in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, has been excluded from the game for obvious reasons, as reported by Splash 24/7.
