Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority SCA is following up on the progress of construction work on various marine units as part of efforts to localize the maritime industry.
The Suez Canal Authority SCA aims to achieve an unprecedented leap in its efforts to localize the Shipbuilding maritime industry Admiral General Rabie stated in press release "The coming period will witness an increase in the volume of construction work on marine units at the Authority's shipyards and companies, in cooperation with the Suez Canal Modern Boats Company."

While The head of the South Red Sea Shipyard announced that "The construction of six new tugboats with a bollard pull ranging from 85 to 90 tons will commence at the Suez Canal Modern Boats Company during the second half of next year."

Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority SCA, inspected the construction work on various marine units being built for the Authority at the Suez Canal Modern Boats Company in Safaga, in partnership between the Suez Canal Authority and the South Red Sea Shipyard Company. He was received by Mr. Mustafa El-Degishy, CEO of the Suez Canal Modern Boats Company, in the presence of several leaders from both the Authority and the Company. This comes in implementation of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to localize maritime industries and strengthen partnerships with the private sector.

The visit aims to conduct periodic follow-ups on the progress of work and review the latest developments in the construction of 10 "Azm" class tugboats with a bollard pull of 90 tons, and 12 deep-sea fishing vessels.
The tour began with an inspection of the construction work on the "Azm" class tugboats at the shipyard, where work is currently underway to complete the construction of 8 tugboats being built concurrently, following the delivery of the "Azm 1" and "Azm 2" tugboats.
Admiral Rabie listened to a detailed explanation from Mr. Mustafa El-Degishy regarding the progress of the tugboats. The tugboats Azm 3 and Azm 4 are scheduled for delivery by the end of this month after the completion of trials. Construction of the hulls for Azm 5, Azm 6, Azm 7, and Azm 8 is fully completed, and work is currently underway to complete the hulls for Azm 9 and Azm 10.
The Chairman of the Authority then reviewed the progress of the construction of 12 deep-sea fishing vessels similar to the fishing vessel Rizk 1. The first two fishing vessels are scheduled to be launched at the end of December, God willing.
Following this, Lieutenant General Rabie inspected the interior finishing work on the new tourist yacht, which is the first product of the Suez Canal Modern Boats Company's yacht factory. He also reviewed the construction of two tourist launches and a river bus to serve maritime and river tourism.
On the other hand , Osama Rabie noted that the Suez Canal Authority aims to achieve an unprecedented leap in its efforts to localize the maritime industry. This is in line with the directives of the political leadership to work towards meeting the internal operational requirements of the Canal and Egyptian ports, and to open the door to international exports under the slogan "Made in Egypt."
The Chairman of the Authority explained that the coming period will witness an increase in the volume of marine vessel construction activities at the Authority's shipyards and companies, in cooperation with the Suez Canal Modern Boats Company, which is a partnership with the South Red Sea Shipyard Company.

Mr. Mustafa El-Degishy, CEO of the Suez Canal Modern Boats Company, explained that the construction of marine units, including tugboats, deep-sea fishing vessels, and cruise boats, is proceeding at an accelerated pace, exceeding the established schedule. This will allow for the awarding of more new construction projects in the coming period.
The CEO of the Suez Canal Modern Boats Company indicated that work is underway to finalize the necessary supplies for the construction of six new tugboats with a bollard pull ranging from 85 to 90 tons at the company, in preparation for their commissioning during the second half of next year.
